They include all Gloranthans of dark skin, such as the Kresh, the Doraddi, etc. The Men and a Half are the greatest of the Agimori. Yet the reason for their greatness is that they have been Agimori the shortest time. Here is their story: [b:7e36dd752a]The Creation of the World, the Birth of the Bomonoi and the Birth of the Agi[/b:7e36dd752a] First, there was the Transcendent, the Mystery. But there was also the World. And there was Pamalt, who was the Allfather, the Shaman and the Chief, and there was Noruma, who was the Shaman and the Fetch, the Sacred Fire, the Bridge between the World and the Mystery. Maybe it was Pamalt who created Noruma, or maybe it was Noruma who created Pamalt, or maybe Noruma is the transcendent component of Pamalt. Probably all three, for one cannot be without the other. What we do know is that there was Pamalt, and there was Noruma. And Noruma begat the Bomonoi, the Giants of Fire, who were neither Men nor Gods. Or to put it another way, from the Unknowable devolved something that was Knowable, the Principles of Fire, the basic building blocks of Pamaltelan existence. Greatest of the Bomonoi was Balumbasta, the Roaring Flame of Life. As of yet there was no Man, however. That came only later. As Creation unfolded and the Worlds clashed, Pamalt saw Man for the first time, but it was a foreign thing. Yet he saw that the form itself was good, and wanted to fill it with what was pure and proper. So Pamalt went to the Bomonoi, and inspired them, Balumbasta always at the fore, to create different forms of Being with himself. From Hoolar through Jelmre and Pelmre they went, always adding more ingredients to the mix, never being truly happy with their creations. That is, until finally they created the Agi, the First People of Pamalt. And these are the parts from which the Agi were made: Yanmorla: the clay, the vessel, the body, Pamalt: the mind, the consciousness, Balumbasta: Noruma's Flame of Life, the link with the transcendent without which there is no true life, Cronisper: the Breath of Life, the lifeforce that, bonded with Yanmorla is Being, Kendamalar: thought, man and finally Nyanka: speech, the desire to feel connected, sociality, woman. [b:7e36dd752a]The Birth of the Agimori and the Agitori[/b:7e36dd752a] The first of the Agi were immortal, and their number was only 333. They were more giants and great spirits than men. They did not need to eat, nor to drink. They didn't mate with each other, but created offspring by the very power of their flames of life, just as Balumbasta and the Bomonoi could. However, men they were, some more than others. And those some felt the Needs of Man: they wanted to change, to hunt, to eat plants and to have children. When they demanded this of Pamalt, he saw he could do nothing but yield to them, yet he warned them that this would also mean the end to their immortality. First, these Agi experienced Hunger. Rasout taught them to hunt. Hunting, they became thirsty. It was Nyanka who taught them to drink. Yet Nyanka was not mere water, she was the Water of Life. Drinking of her oases made the Agi both want to procreate, and able to do so. What it didn't give, however, was the knowledge of how to do this sacred act with the proper humility, and the Agi were shamed by their blunderings. It was Pamalt and Aleshmara who taught them how to do it properly. As these Agi mated among each other, their numbers multiplied, but they also lost some of their strength on the way. Because of this, people began to call them the Agimori, and those who had maintained their immortality the Agitori. The Agimori are the Second People of Pamalt. At first, there was harmony between the Agimori and Agitori, and they lived happily together. But then Dorad, the first of the Agimori, Died. The Agitori were terrified of this, and feared that Death might also spread into their midst. They moved south, to the Burning Desert. Meanwhile, the Agimori spread all over Pamaltela. [b:7e36dd752a]The Origins of the Men-and-a-Half[/b:7e36dd752a] At the time of the parting, the Men-and-a-Half were not among the Agimori. They were still Agitori, or Twice-Men, or Half-Men. Here is what happened: When the Agi were created, it was not only Pamalt who was excited of Creation. Balumbasta was at least as excited, and gave of his Fires of Life freely, at times more and at times less. Of all the tribes created, The Twice-Men were the favored of Balumbasta, the ones most gifted with both his own fire, as well as that of Noruma. Because of this, they also had less Weakness-of-Man in them. Thus, when the Agimori and Agitori parted, they had no problems remaining pure. Of the new forces, they even resented some, such as Nyanka, whom they called the Demon-Temptress, and Death-Bringer, for how she had made the Agimori shame themselves. When the time came, the Twice-Men gladly followed Balumbasta to the southern deserts, thereby maintaining their purity, strength and immortality. When Chaos entered the world, Balumbasta and his lieutenants knew that the End had come, and felt the Void gnawing at their hearts, anathema and paradox to their very being. Yet, being Strongest of the strong, Bravest of the brave, instead of just Ceasing, they took up arms and led their forces to battle. The Twice-Men followed them all across the world. War was merciless, however, and Balumbasta and his people suffered so that their Flames almost dried up. The life-giving Fire of Balumbasta was used up, both in battle and in creating new fighters to replace depleting numbers. There was no alternative any more. To save the world, the proud Twice-Men had to seek out the Demon Tempress Nyanka. They did not lose it all, however. As All was Ending, even Nyanka saw that she must bargain. A deal was struck. The Twice-Men didn't let Nyanka into their life wholely, and so became only Men-and-a-Half, and not mere Men. Yet, even know, when they need to increase their numbers, they need to bargain again for her Life-Giving Water.
